About Hammond & Stephens
A success story with a simple beginning... In 1887 teacher and writer Dan Stephens became the Dodge County Superintendent of Schools in Fremont, Nebraska. Unable to find suitable educational forms, Stephens decided to print them himself. He partnered with newspaper publishers Frank and Ross Hammond to found Hammond & Stephens in 1894.
This company continued to grow and become one of the largest companies in the country to specialize in class record, lesson plan and assignment books, along with a wide selection of awards and recognition products.
In July of 1998 Hammond & Stephens became a part of the School Specialty family continuing to print and expand our products and services even further.
As future School Specialty growth continued with the acquisition of Premier in December of 2001 we merged our student assignment and agenda line to offer the best selection available at prices to fit any budget.
Today, Hammond & Stephens maintains to offer the best products to help educators plan, organize and reward success. Every product we make and offer is distinguished by its quality and value.
